The master’s degree program in English offers students the opportunity to achieve a multifaceted understanding of literature and language. The degree is useful to those already teaching in high schools or interested in community college teaching, to those seeking careers in writing and publishing, and to those intending to pursue further graduate work.

Important Dates

Registration: Check website or class schedule for date.

Project Proposal or Exam Declaration Due: Project Proposals or Exam Declarations must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, during the 5th week of the fall semester. Submissions will be done electronically.

Application Deadlines: The application deadline for admission to the M.A. Program for fall semester is February 1st. Cal State Apply, the online Admissions system, opens October 1st.
