ACACIA GROUP

ACACIA is a social group for undergraduate and graduate students who wish to obtain their Masters of Arts and/or Ph.D. In the fall, we offer workshops focused on pedagogical and professional development. Oftentimes, these workshops feature speakers, including CSUF faculty, who describe their own educational journeys and experiences, as well as their current research projects. In the spring, we sponsor an annual conference with a special keynote speaker. A call for papers is distributed throughout the CSU system and all students and faculty are encouraged to submit their critical essays and other original works. ACACIA offers opportunities for students to obtain invaluable information that will facilitate their own educational experience and help to build their academic vitae.

For more information, please contact us.

CREATIVE WRITING CLUB

The purpose of this organization is to provide opportunities for all students on campus interested in creative writing (i.e. poetry, fiction, song writing, screenplays, spoken word etc.) to: improve upon their craft through interactive workshops, learn about the process of getting published and/or self-publishing, share their creative works with others in small and large public spaces and meet creative writing professionals at events planned during the year.

Do you think languages are cool? Consider joining the LSA! The goal of the Linguistics Student Association is to provide a space for those interested in the diverse field of linguistics, and to provide networking opportunities to students wishing to pursue a career in the field. Every year we hold a symposium on campus featuring notable guest speakers from around the country to talk about different topics in linguistics. The LSA also maintains spaces for students involved in linguistics on campus to communicate with one another and collaborate outside of classes.

Everyone is free to join, regardless of major or experience with the field.

Join our Discord, where most club comminications will take place.
