Giving to the Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics

The Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics prides itself on its support of student research and scholarship and the excellent teaching and scholarship of our faculty. The Acacia Group, our graduate student organization, sponsors an annual graduate student conference at which graduate students from CSUF and from universities across the country present their work in a professional conference atmosphere. We are especially proud to have our faculty be invited to serve as panel chairs and to speak at the conference. We also support our students by awarding a number of scholarships each year, scholarships that have been funded by generous individuals either to support excellent scholarship or to help students in need. Our scholarships support our students; the general funds provide opportunities for our faculty to share their research at conferences around the world. Provides a scholarship fund for Linguistics graduate students in the Department of English, Comparative Literature and the Linguistics Program.

Provide an annual scholarship to a currently enrolled undergraduate student who intends to receive a Baccalaureate Degree in English, Comparative Literature, or Linguistics.

To provide a scholarship or award to  undergraduate students in the Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics who meet the AB 540 qualifications.

JEVID Scholarship in English Fund 36046 Give to the JEVID Scholarship in EnglishOpens in new window   
Provides an annual scholarship for an undergraduate student majoring in English, Comparative Literature, or Linguistics with economic need.
 
English Department Writer in Residence Program Fund 36060 Give to the English Department Writer in Residence ProgramOpens in new window
Supports a qualified local creative writers and invite them to join the faculty for a semester, teaching one of the department’s creative writing workshop courses, providing open workshops for our majors, and sharing his or her work at public readings.

In addition, the Department supports the DASH journal which publishes excellent creative writing and provides experience in creating such a journal to our creative writing students.
